Minutes of the meeting of Grainthorpe Parish Council held on Wednesday 9th Nov. 2022 at 7.30pm in the Chapel Schoolroom, Grainthorpe.

Fire and Rescue are looking at community risk, there is a consultation on the ‘Let’s Talk Lincolnshire’ website
Avian flu outbreaks are being monitored.
The poor road repair of the guard rail on the cross roads has been reprogrammed, contractor claimed it was only a temporary repair due to lack of suitable timber being available.
The overgrown hedge at Poors End was discussed, Cllr McNally  didn’t think it was a Highways responsibility, it will be down to land owner.  We will try again to establish who that is.
The old street name plate for Wragholme Road needs to be removed and there was some discussion about a public footpath near Range cottages.
Tedder Hall is now closed, Officers have moved to The Hub at Horncastle.
 
37.22 – Clerk to receive declarations of pecuniary interest on any Agenda item in accordance with Localism Act and the Council’s Code of Conduct and Standing Orders.

Acceptance of office and DPI forms completed by Cllr Nicholls and handed to Clerk.

668  P Hibberd – reissue of cheques 658 & 660 - £52.30
One cheque was approved and signed.
669 – Grainthorpe Methodist Church Hall hire - £96.00

Financial statement submitted was approved and bank statement signed.
Cllr Bensley filled in forms to be added to bank mandate as a signatory.
 
 
41.22  Parish Matters

Village signs, no progress, still need to find suitable position, discussion took place and suggestion was near the parish orchard and somewhere near Walkers Kennels. This will be looked into.  Keep as Agenda item.
 
No further volunteers have come forward for co-option, still have two vacancies.
 
Playing Field Wildlife notice board artwork was looked at and discussed, this will now go to professional designer.
 
Cllr Hibberd still wanted to go ahead and repair the village notice board he felt it was worth doing.  After discussion Cllr Bark proposed we use the grant money offered by our two District Councillors and purchase a new notice board, this was seconded by Cllr West and all were in favour.  Clerk to look for a suitable notice board around £750, aluminium and the preferred colour would be green.  
 
If no one suitable is found to lay the Poppy wreath, the Chair will do it. Richard Drinkel to be contacted for final arrangements about service.
 
Plans for celebrating the Kings Coronation will be put on next Agenda, it is hoped all the organisations in the village will work together.
